A. Why use an aluminum channel for LED strip (not plastic only)
Aluminum carries heat from the LED strip along the full length; a good LED aluminum profile channel is also the straight rail for the tape and the registered track for the diffuser. For strip lighting, you usually pick a shallow U for cove and cabinet, or a wider body when you need more lumen and a bigger heat path. The sample image above is your size check list: match inner groove to your strip (common 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm), and check outer W×H against the slot you cut in the shelf or ceiling.

B. Cover and finish (typical for this class of channel)
- PC cover (polycarbonate): strong, good for long runs; frosted for soft line, clear when you need a crisp edge.
- PMMA (acrylic): very clear; use where impact is lower and clarity matters.
- Aluminum body: 6063 class is common for extrusion; anodized silver / black or powder coat to match joinery.

C. Install path (strip lighting—fast choices)
- Surface mount — Screws or clips; good for under-cabinet eta shelf retrofits.
- Recessed — Mill a slot to the flange width; only the lens line shows.
- Plaster / trimless — Use the same section from the drawing, but add the plaster lip version if your project is trimless line (separate SKU in catalog—ask on email).
